Kristel joined GRM in December 2004 after graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Business Management in Enterprise and International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and French. She graduated with commendations from the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law and was placed on the Dean's Honour Roll for 2004.

Kristel was the Project Coordinator for the Solomon Islands Law and Justice Sector Institutional Strengthening Program (SILAJSISP).

Under this Program, she was responsible for coordinating adviser recruitment, contracting and management; and financial management and procurement of goods and services. This position included several working visits to the Solomon Islands which helped her develop a solid understanding of the conditions under which the project operates and an invaluable understanding of the local culture, society and key development issues.

In March 2006, Kristel transferred to GRM’s office in Utrecht, the Netherlands where she is currently providing support to several projects in Central Asia and Saharan Africa in the areas of land reform, strengthening of government institutions and rural livelihoods. She is also actively involved in the recruitment of consultants under the EC Framework Contract – Food Security and Rural Development.

Kristel says, "GRM is very supportive in providing opportunities for training and development. It has been very rewarding to work with and learn from colleagues who are professional, dedicated and passionate about development”.
