The KFCP is a component of the Indonesia-Australia Forest Carbon Partnership (IAFCP), which aims to advance the global effort to tackle climate change and protect the world's forests by reducing deforestation, encouranging reforestation and promoting sustainable forest management in developing countries (REDD). KCP is the first large-scale demonstrationactivity under this initiative. The detailed design of the activity is now being undertaken. A key component of the design will be a strategy of interventions to reduce threats to the forest through economic and other incentives linked to sustainable livelihoods.
