YOUNG PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM

Peter Riddell-Carre
Project Coordinator

Peter Riddell-Carre joined GRM in September 2003. He was the second British Young Professional to join GRM UK, and relocated to the Brisbane office in March 2005.

He joined GRM after undertaking short-term consultancy work with Department for International Development (DFID) and The International Labour Organisation (ILO). Peter has a Masters in International Development from Bath University and a BSc in Geography from Bristol University.

The Young Professional Programme has enabled Peter to develop a broad range of project management and financial management skills, and he has co-ordinated various projects in Central Asia, The Middle East and Africa.

Peter has also spent time living and working in the Solomon Islands whilst completing an input on GRM’s Law & Justice Project.

Peter has travelled extensively throughout South East Asia, Central America, North America and Europe, and spent six months during his “gap year” working in rural communities in Eastern Nepal promoting appropriate technologies and women’s empowerment.

“GRM’s Young Professional Programme provides the perfect stepping stone to developing a career within international development. I have received tremendous support and encouragement throughout my time at GRM and look forward to the wealth of opportunities ahead.”  Peter says.
