GRM Donates $30,000 to Tsunami Relief in Southern Asia

The GRM Development Fund has donated $30,000 to CARE Australia for its tsunami relief efforts in Southern Asia.

CARE Australia is helping provide essential items and services to victims of the Boxing Day earthquake and resulting tsunamis that have caused death and devastation across the region.

GRM’s donation will assist CARE’s long term projects aimed at rebuilding affected areas, as well as its immediate relief efforts, which include:

  • distribution of food, water, clothing and medicine in Sri Lanka;
  • a coordinated emergency response program with the Indian government and local partners in India;
  • supply of medicines, first aid kits, water and other essential items in Thailand; and
  • the provision of water treatment chemicals and water vessels in Aceh, Indonesia.

The GRM Development Fund was established in 2004 to provide financial assistance to a wide range of worthy causes.

To date, it has donated in excess of $100,000 to causes and activities across the world.
