Diwai Pacific Ltd, a joint venture company comprising Divine Word University, Madang, and GRM International, has been successful in bidding for the Teacher Quality Upgrading Project (TQUP), which is a major initiative of the Education Capacity Building Project, Papua New Guinea.
Under TQUP 150 teachers from throughout the country will undertake a two semester program to upgrade their qualifications. Two programs will be offered: a Post Graduate Diploma of Education for untrained teachers with degree qualifications; and a Diploma in Teaching for teachers with certificate or diploma qualifications.
The programs will be offered over 12 months from February 2006, through a mix of intensive workshops in four campuses of the University and distance education mode.
