Project Purpose/Outcomes : |
AusAID and NZAID are jointly providing assistance to basic education in Vanuatu through an emerging sector wide approach (SWAp). Under a joint funding arrangement, the Vanuatu Education Support Action Plan (VESAP) has earmarked donor funds being channelled through Government of Vanuatu financial systems to support priority education investments. A range of mutually agreed technical assistance positions have been identified to support the VESAP and help build Ministry of Education (MOE) capacity to manage a more fully developed SWAp. NZAID and AusAID have agreed to manage this initial technical assistance support on behalf of the Vanuatu MOE. In the longer term, as capacity increases, technical assistance will be managed by the MOE. |
Achievements : |
GRM has successfully recruited, contracted, mobilised the following technical advisers, a Vanuatu Institute of Teacher Education (VITE) Curriculum Harmonisation Adviser, and an Internal Audit Adviser, and continues to provide ongoing management support. |
